POLICIES
I understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone's life. Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, snowstorms and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment.
In my desire to be effective and fair to all of my clients and out of consideration for my treatment time, I have adopted the following (inflexible) policies:
Cancellations
- 24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to retain my services. A FULL 24 hrs is required!
- I accept cancellations by phone only. DO NOT send me an email to cancel an appointment.
- If you are unable to give me a FULL 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of what would have been your treatment fee. At my discretion this charge will be either existing gift certificate or it must be paid in full prior to your next treatment. You may pay for this missed appointment by clicking the Pre-Pay tab and click on the amount/time of appointment that is missed. Please Pre-Pay your missed appointment before calling to reschedule. Thank you
If a gift certificate is being used as payment for your appointment, and you fail to give a FULL 24 hour advance cancellation notice, that gift certificate will become null and void.
No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a "no-show". They will be charged for their "missed" appointment and future service will be denied until payment is made.
- Arriving Late
If you are not present for your scheduled session during the first 15 minutes (unless having telephoned me you might be late), it will be construed by me that you are a "no-show". Depending upon how late you arrive, I will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment...and regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the "full" session.
- Returned Check fee
There is a Returned Check fee of $30 for NSF.
Contraindications (Situations where massage is not indicated)
Under certain medical conditions, massage/bodywork may not be advised, for example when a fever is present, indicating an infection. If a massage could be potentially harmful to a client's condition, the massage therapist has the right to decline to do the massage.
- Draping policy
DRAPING- Draping is a must and not an option. I insist. I follow proper massage draping protocol. It is my strict personal policy to use draping (towel, sheet or clothing) with each and every massage. Even if the client is wearing their undergarments a towel or sheet will be used in addition. No additional draping is necessary if the client is in clothing/outer wear.
Please respect the professional boundaries that exist between therapist and client.
- A few more things I would like to mention:
Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other clients, PLEASE plan accordingly and be on time.
No matter what the circumstance--a phone call is always appreciated!
Regarding "splitting" an appointment.---you cannot "split" an appointment between 2 separate clients. Two differnt clients must schedule 2 separate appointments and pay for the time amount you have selected. If you have a gift certificate and the recipient must split up the time into 2 separate appointments, there will be a $10.00 charge. The gift certificate is only valid to the actual recipient named on the gift certificate. My massages are priced lower when buying a longer massage, so the client must pay the difference when doing this. You may only split the massage into massage lengths of 30 minutes or 60 minute increments.
For health reasons--please arrive freshly showered after exercising.
- I reserve the right to refuse to perform a massage for any hygiene issues including failure to shower after exercising, after swimming in pool or excessive sweating. You will be responsible for full payment of your treatment time if you arrive not in the condition to receive massage.
- Right to Refuse
I reserve the right to refuse any potential client for any reason.
- Massage for Children/Minors
Any client under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present for the initial appointment to sign a consent form. At that time, I will go over with the parent and child in the treatment room what will go on during the massage and I will be able to answer any questions you may have. The parent may be present in the treatment room during the massage if you wish.
Under no circumstances do I perform any kind of massage even remotely associated with sexual massage, ever.
Any comments and /or behaviors that are sexually inappropriate will prompt me to immediately terminate the session and charge in full for that appointment.
